New Publication In The works!

The Foundation is starting a new publication endeavor. This time the focus will be Ned Foltz, the Potter. Regina Foltz, Ned’s daughter, and Lisa Ochs will be co-writing the publication. The book is currently in the beginning stages. Ned has been contributing to the content of the book. Follow us as we embark on this journey with Ned. He has some very interesting stories to tell.
If you have any stories or memories of Ned and Gwen, feel free to email us your story. Either Gina or Lisa will get back to you. Information will also be gathered by interviewing people who have been part of Ned’s story. The goal is to complete the publication by 2025. We can’t wait to see what tales will be turned.
In 2019 the Foundation decided to publish a book highlighting the paper cuttings of Gwen Foltz. Gwen started the art of paper cutting in the late 1970s and completed her last one in 2015. The book spanned over 35 years of her artwork. Collectors of Gwen’s work graciously allowed us to photograph their paper cuttings as well as display their collections for an exhibit held on October 2, 2021, at the Foltz Pottery Shop. 50 copies were published and all the books sold quickly. The book took approximately 2 years to complete due to Covid-19 situations. The book was a collaboration between Justin Hulshizer and Ned Foltz. Samuel Shoemaker was the photographer. Gwen created paper cuttings for show invitations, whimsical animals, seasonal greetings, and personalized creations. Gwen was also known for more than just her paper cuttings. She always had a light lunch prepared for each of Ned’s shows. She could always be found in the kitchen preparing those fantastic lunches. The menu often correlated with the theme of Ned’s show. Gwen and her husband Ned were known for their hospitality. You always felt like family at the pottery shop. Sadly, Gwen passed away in 2017, but signs of her inspiration live on to this day at the pottery shop.
